During the most recent Cybersecurity Weekdeveloped by our client Cueros Vélez with the support of the 7 WAY SECURITY teamwe experienced an enriching event that combined learning, hands-on practice, and awareness about the role each employee plays in protecting information.
The main goal was to bring cybersecurity closer to peopleand demonstrate that it’s not a topic reserved only for technical teams, but a shared responsibility across the entire organization. From educational activities to interactive sessions, the initiative helped connect security policies with everyday situations—sparking reflection, curiosity, and commitment.
From Theory to Practice: Awareness and Real Exercises
The week began with awareness sessions led by our co-founder Giovanni Cruzfocusing on the organization’s information security policies.. These talks covered essential topics such as responsible data handling, the proper information classification, the secure password management and phishing prevention—promoting a culture of protection and strong digital practices among participants.

Later, employees took part in interactive spaces such as the “Create your secure password”challenge, a hands-on activity that revealed how strong (or weak) our daily passwords can be, and how small changes in habits can make the difference between a protected and a vulnerable account.
Another highlight was the Datalake, which demonstrated—under controlled conditions—how certain personal or corporate data can appear in leaked databases or public forums on the internet. Designed with educational purposes, this exercise had a powerful impact by visually showing how information exposure translates into real risks.
Attendees also participated in OSINT (Open Source Intelligence)workshops, learning how public information is collected online and how, when used responsibly, those same methods can help protect the company’s reputation and integrity.
Understanding the value of information
Through these exercises, it became clear that information is one of the company’s most valuable assets. The sessions emphasized the parameters needed to safeguard it, promoting best practices for using corporate devices, managing access credentials, and reporting incidents promptly.
Each participant had the opportunity to apply real concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability—the three pillars of information security. These experiences not only reinforced technical knowledge but also strengthened the organization’s digital responsibility culture.
Engagement and Employee Commitment
One of the campaign’s greatest achievements was the high level of enthusiasm and participation from employees. Many showed genuine interest and surprise at topics they were previously unaware of—such as the amount of publicly exposed data—and actively engaged in quizzes and playful activities.

The simulated phishing exercise, the trivia games, and security policy quizzes sparked curiosity and self-assessment on digital protection topics. The conversations and excitement generated during and after the activities demonstrated that the culture of security is growing within the company..
A Joint Effort Toward a Safer Company
As a trusted security partner, we sincerely thank Cueros Vélez for their confidence and commitment to promoting a solid cybersecurity culture. Initiatives like this are key to strengthening companies’ digital resilience, protecting both corporate and personal data, and fostering safe digital habits among employees.
In short, the Cybersecurity Week was not just an informational campaign, but a transformative learning experience. Through hands-on exercises, reflection, and strong participation, we reaffirmed that information security is a collective effort that begins with each of us.
